Delivery/Collection

Alpha Skip Hire accept no liability for damage claims arising from vehicles delivering/collecting off the public highway.  When delivering or collecting off the public highway it is possible that damage can occur to the ground surface or items around where the skip will be placed i.e. walls/fences on your property. If you ask us to proceed off the public highway, it must be clearly understood that whilst every effort is taken to prevent incidents happening, it is at your request and your responsibility.

Waste in the skip

Once collected if waste materials in the skip are found to not to be allowed as described on this website in the ‘Order Info’ section, the customer will be liable for additional charges under our terms & conditions.

Hazardous Materials

No hazardous materials must be placed in the skip, including but not limited to, asbestos, fridges, freezers and car tyres. Materials of this type placed in a skip could endanger our staff and will incur the hirer additional charges or the material returned to your site.

Skips in the Public Highway

It is the customer’s responsibility to provide lights and cones. Lights to be positioned on the containers and lit during the hours of darkness and cones to divert the flow of traffic. Any call out by the authorities is chargeable.

Skips must be covered in the hours of darkness.

Skip Road Licences

If your skip requires a permit to stand on the road we will apply to the Highways Authority on your behalf.

We will collect the skip on last day of permit unless you contact us BEFORE licence expiry date, we will then apply to extend the permit period on instructions from the customer provided a payment is received from the customer to Alpha Skip Hire.

The Highways Authorities do not refund permit applications.

Skips General

There will be no refunds for part filled skips.

Level Loads Only

Containers are only to be filled so they form a level top with the side of the skip. If the driver considers the load unsafe we will be unable to move the container. If overloaded, but considered safe to transport, a surcharge will be levied.

Burning in the Containers

Fires are not permitted in the containers. Any damage caused by the burning whether accidental or deliberate will be chargeable.

Drop Doors

If your skip is fitted with a drop door ensure the retaining bolts are fully in place when the door is in a closed position.

Skip Collection

Unless otherwise stated on order form for a longer period, the skip will be collected automatically after the FIFTEENTH day from delivery.
